I Have A Dream, Too
I love Martin Luther King, Jr. I love everything he stood for, and still stands for.
I love the nonviolent civil disobedience of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960′s and 70′s…of facing down anger and hatred with love, compassion, courage and a determination to live the kind of life each of us has a right to.
I’m not interested in writing a history lesson. There are plenty of good places to go if that’s what you’re after.
I’m more interested in the present, and what you’re doing with YOUR life…NOW.
Because if you listen to Dr. King closely, he had one eye on what was happening then with black people (his words)…
…and one eye on the future…when people are judged, “not by the color of their skin, but on the content of their character.”
What he really wanted was to give everyone a chance to live out their Divine purpose, and not get tripped up by silliness like what color your skin is.
His biggest lesson for me, a white Jewish guy is the willingness to step outside one’s comfort zone.
Because if you think your life is gonna get any better by doing the same old thing, thinking the same old thing, reacting to life the same old way….
You know better.
Thanks to Martin Luther King, Jr. and many others, the struggle isn’t so much outside anymore.
(No matter what Wall Street does or what the politicians tell you.)
The challenge is inside.
Break the barriers.
Break the bondage of bad habits and poverty thinking.
Open your mind and your heart.
Let the blessings in.
I”m proud to share it.
I’m proud to sell it.
Yeah, a few bucks to build the framework for a better life.
When you think about what others had to go through to achieve their liberty.
When you think about what people in other parts of the world are going through now.
You had better appreciate all the good stuff you have.
And you have a responsibility to actively design your own life.
Or don’t whine when any outside force takes your choices from you.
Happy Birthday, Dr. King.

What Would You Do?
What would you do if you were royalty?
If you were a king or queen with Divine favor bestowed upon you?
Would you exude an air of quiet confidence?
Of expecting to receive graciously and often from people, and give them your favor in return?
Would you have a sense of internal satisfaction, knowing your place in the world was assured?
What would you no longer be willing to accept, in actions or words?
Well, in case you forgot, there is a king or queen in you.
Reach inside you and find him or her.
Falling In Love
Know how you looked at someone and were blown away at how beautiful and alive they seemed?
How they seemed to have this amazing energy radiating from them…how part of you fell in love right then and there, regardless or their age or gender or appearance?
Well, at some point someone felt that exact same way about you. And at some point you probably felt that way about yourself.
How cool will it be when you make that energy your normal state of being?

Let Tebow Be Tebow
And let (insert your name here) be (insert your name here).
Here in the United States, our favorite spectator sport is no longer football. It’s not basketball, or baseball or hockey either.

It’s Tebow watching.
Yeah, Tim Tebow.
He’s a 23 year old kid.
And the reason we’re watching him is because he took his physical talents (considerable) and devoted a single minded focus and commitment to success on the football field.
Like very few 23 years do.
He tries something. He fails. He submits to instruction and mentorship from people who know better.
He tries and fails a thousand more times.
On time number one thousand and one he gets it right.
And he keeps going, both for the end result and the love of the game.
Whether or not that success has to do with a connection to God, I leave that up to each of you to decide.
But truth of the matter is, the guy’s talent and achievement earned him a platform from which to speak.
And he uses it.
Don’t like his platform? Object to what he’s saying?
Go cultivate your own talent.
Shut out the rest of the world and their opinion of you.
Stop listening when they tell you your style of quarterbacking will never make it in the NFL.
(At this moment, you’d have a hard time selling that to the Pittsburgh Steelers.)
Because you know – just like with Tebow – most of them are just pissed off they don’t have the talent or drive of Tebow, and it’s easier to throw rocks at a house than to build one.
Do your thing. YOUR thing. Doesn’t matter if you have NFL talent.
You have something that will draw a crowd and make the forces of attraction and abundance pay attention to you.
Then when you’ve attracted a crowd by the single minded, crazy work ethic you have and the results that go with it, you will have made your own fortune.
Then you get a platform from which to speak, just like Tebow.
And you get the money to use however you like…just like Tebow.
Tebow is Tebow. He’s ALL of Tebow.
How much of YOU are you being?
The degree to which you complain about Tebow – or idolize him for that matter – is that much less of you being yourself.
Take that energy and channel it back into your own life story.
Game on, Baby!
