I have my annual “For The Freaks” New Year’s Eve message ready to go, with the 2015 update. But this is on my mind and heart, so I’m putting it out there…
I did one of those 15 second Instagram videos that showed me juggling. CLICK HERE if you want to take a look.
The whole idea was telling people that no, juggling is not part of the T3 Method. But anything that helps us to raise our heart rates, get a little resistance training, get moving again if that’s what we need to do and basically fall back in love with our bodies IS part of it.
And Christopher Marinelli, our resident certified personal trainer has lots of different ways to make that happen
But as I was speaking the words into my iPhone, the brain storm hit…
Falling BACK in love with our bodies.
Think back to the earliest time you can remember in your life. You were learning to walk, or to ride a bike or to do something that took more physical skill and coordination then you had at the moment.
It was a challenge, but you loved it.
Your body was young, responsive and unlimited. You didn’t sweat the accidents, the falls, even as you skin your knee and cried for your parents. Your body was your friend. It was your vehicle to experience the world, and you loved it.
Then of course over time things changed. Age, metabolism, gravity, maybe disease. Lifestyle choices, stress…these became players in your day-to-day existence. Maybe you still experienced your body as a friend on the journey. But many didn’t.
Well, I’m telling you you can fall back in love with your body.
Because truth be told, you never completely fell out of love with your body. Even if it seems that way.
Yes, the relationship can get complicated. But show me any long term relationship that doesn’t have its challenges.
If you’ve ever fallen in love with a person – I mean really fell in love, not infatuation, but love – and then the relationship ended…
You never fell out of love completely. You know it. You know you kept the space deep inside that belongs only to them, and you imagined they did the same with you. Even if they didn’t, you still held that space because that kind of love is eternal.
You do the same thing with your body, whether you know it or not. It is your life partner. It is your vehicle. You take it with you, for better or for worse.
And even if you neglected it, forgot to nurture and cherish it, that love stays with you. Yes, like that relationship. It reflects the level of care you give it. But like the little kid you were, it is the eternal optimist.
The T3 Method is just that: a method to get you strong, fit healthy, and if necessary, lose weight.
But it’s also a community, and a lifestyle. One that promotes wellness. And wholeness. And eternal unconditional love, for that part of you that has never really gone away. And as long as you breathe in and out never will.
And we’re holding a space…for you.
