Of all the excuses you can use to avoid making money, flying home is no longer one of them.
I launched the No More Holding Back Affiliate Program recently, along with the other irons I’ve got in the fire.
And I did a fair amount of it away from my home laptop.
So yes, it wasn’t as convenient to get things done without the device that has all your codes and passwords already memorized.
Here’s the thing…
The activities involved in making money aren’t the nuts and bolts. Yes, you have to do those, or your have an unorganized jumble no one wants to go near.
Making money is about creating something value added…or putting yourself between something good and the people who want it.
It’s also about gathering enough momentum around what you’re doing so that people know what’s going on. They know it, and they know you, and they see the value in it.
And it’s about engaging people and building relationships so people want to buy what you’re selling, or at least make decisions that move them in that direction.
That can be done while waiting for a flight.
Or running toward your gate when you’re in danger of missing that flight.
Or enjoying a mediocre cup of coffee on the flight where they ran out of half and half and you’re drinking it black.
Or noticing someone’s really great service.
Or noticing how cool one of your online friends is, and letting the rest of the world know about it too.
If you’re not doing the things that help you move your business or career forward, it’s not about lack of time.
It’s about missed opportunities.
Keep your technology close by.
Find that balance of staying in the moment, so you have fun stuff to talk about while you’re living your life.
Be aware of what others are doing and what’s important to them, so your content, even in the airport can match their agenda.
