LIN-SANITY!!! Or is it?

Count one more fan of Jeremy Lin!

And I get extra points, being a fan of the New York Knicks since the late 1970′s, back to the days of Bill Cartwright, Michael Ray Richardson and (gasp) Sly Williams. One of the happiest days of my sports fan life was when the Knicks won the lottery that gave them the rights to draft Patrick Ewing.

But the 2012 version of Larry is extra pumped for Lin-sanity.

And the reason is…I recognize this dude not as insane, but as completely committed, bold and even logical in going after what he wants.

It makes perfect sense. He had the gift of basketball brilliance. He knew it all along.

And he was perfectly grounded in faith. In his version of God and his place in God’s plan.

He didn’t believe. He KNEW.

And so he was willing to study and learn from those who knew more. He was willing to put in hour and hour after hour of practice, of repetition, of making the moves his own.

He was willing to be the #1 man, or the #15 man…whichever the situation calls for.

Because he understood that basketball is a team game.

And when he was released by Golden State and sent back to the developmental league, he maintained the confidence that the right time would come.

And the Knicks (MY Knicks) needed a point guard.

And the rest – as they say – is LIN-SANITY!

Of course he doesn’t think so because he knew this was coming all along. The “when” was irrelevant.

That’s why he could drop 38 points on Kobe Bryant on the biggest stage in the game.

And more importantly, that why he could have a mediocre game the next night in Minnesota, with a hostile crowd jeering him…

…and calmly hit the free throw that put away the Timberwolves for good.

Strangely enough (and I don’t mind taking credit where credit is due), this is everything I teach in HOW TO RECEIVE, both the book and the teleclass.

Hey, maybe I’ll get Jeremy Lin to come on as a guest trainer!

Don’t count it out, sports fans!
