There’s some heavy duty stuff going on in the world at the moment. Obamacare, war in Africa and the Middle East. The craziness of New Years Resolutions. Wow!
I think it’s time for a break…and to discuss Christmas presents!
Take a look at that spread! This was our tree, and the presents underneath, which we placed after movie night. Surprisingly, we haven’t had to adjust our movie preferences very much, even as little girls are now 20 and 17. We crave stability…then we’re willing to try on some adventure.
The movie choice for the night was The Santa Clause, 2. Then we went for something new, even though it’s ten years old. An English movie called “Love, Actually.”
I got a few presents. But I’m really hard to buy for. If there’s something I want, I get it for myself. And there isn’t much I want. (typical guy, I suppose). But one cool thing was Jill taking some of her new facial stuff and deciding she wanted to cleanse the dry skin off her dad’s face. Phase One of The Big Cleanse.
Maybe it’s a sign of getting older. No such thing as too many socks. Especially high fashion ones like this!
After opening presents on Christmas morning we drove over to my in-laws, in upstate New York. Diane’s sister Laura gave Sarah one of her favorite presents. She’s vegan, and a heck of a cook. Who doesn’t want to “represent” while in the kitchen?
These were cleverly placed under everyone’s plate at dinner time. And of course even though we’re in control of our lives…beginning with our thoughts and emotions, there’s no problem with kickstaring a dream a little bit.
Yeah, maybe dollar scratch off tickets won’t elevate you to a new income bracket. But it’s fun to see things a bit differently. By the way there were ten people at the table. And there were three dollars in total winnings. So the State of New York turned out to be the big winner.
What about you? What were some of your most fun Christmas experiences? Silly or profound…doesn’t matter. Comment below and share them here!
