Facebook status from this morning…
There is a GRAVITATIONAL PULL towards wherever our thoughts, emotions and consciousness are. It shows up not only in our actions, but what those closest to do and how they treat us.
To make real changes in our lives we have to reset our core…get ourselves a new gravitational center that’s aligned with who we are and where we want to go.
A few different things made me think of that phrase – gravitational pull. The most important of them is watching a friend trying to break free of it.
He’s a good man. He’s funny, smart, good to the people around him.
And he is stuck in a system that keeps sucking him back in.
He made some choices a few years back about who he was going to throw down with. And it seemed like the right thing at the time.
Then as the years passed, a little voice woke up inside him. It said…
You are living less than you can be. You’re settling for a life without passion, without a lot of money, of just barely getting by.
And you don’t get to blame the people around you. You did this to yourself. The two of you are feeding off each other’s energy.
If you want more, you’re gonna have to reset your being…to the God force that’s calling out to you.
I’m paraphrasing. I don’t know what the exact words were. I’m basing it on what he told me. And I doubt his inner voice said that exact thing to him.
But it doesn’t matter. Whatever the language is, the feeling and the calling are always the same.
We settle for a certain state of affairs.
And we stay with them until things get too uncomfortable.
When we wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and don’t recognize who we see.
The gravitational pull of settling for less.
And we either give up on ourselves, at least for now…
Or we kid ourselves into thinking we’re going to make some changes…with good feelings, or going bowling with our friends, or affirmations, or some other bull***t…
Or we decide to change our lifeforce…for real.
And we find our courage.
And break free.
And in that moment, we’re liberated.
Things show up. Unexpected money shows up. Opportunities show up.
People show up.
And they say, “Welcome to the club! We’ve been waiting for you!”
Is it time for you to break free?
That’s not for me to decide. You need to get good and pissed off with your life situation.
Not enough money.
Not enough fun.
Not enough respect.
Not enough love.
Not enough sex (yeah…I said it).
Not enough whatever it is you signed up for when you first got here.
Don’t blame anyone else. You were at the scene too.
And don’t waste energy in being angry at yourself.
Just decide to do something different.
Reset your gravity.
And when you do, be ready for some scary, fun changes…that make you feel alive all over again.
(Yeah, I said affirmations are bull***t. They’re just another form of lying to ourselves. Any words without the actions to back them up are just another form of self-delusion. I’m all about the self-talk. But you gotta walk it, not just talk it.)
