I recently had a temper tantrum.
It’s news, because (with the exception of my daughters…you can ask them), there are very few people or things that cause me to lose my temper.
The details aren’t important. Had to do with phones and computers and waiting an unreasonable amount of time for both.
But I did something that is way out of character for me….
Yup…I had a temper tantrum.
When I found out a phone line that was supposed to be installed hadn’t been, I got quiet. I might have muttered a swear word under my breath.
I stormed around, berating the pace at which people were working. Although I was doing it quietly.
It wasn’t the volume of the complaining. It wasn’t loud.
It was the emotion I was experiencing. My soul turned black and cold for a few minutes.
Then after complaining to a supervisor, I settled down. As in, my emotions got back in line. I reached for everything that was going right in my life. There was plenty to find.
Then I was talking with a friend who had witnessed my tantrum, or more accurately, the time period in which I was having it.
I told her my tantrum was over.
Erin said, “If you had a tempter tantrum, it was the quietest one I’ve ever seen.”
Then I went through the whole spiel I just wrote about…the black, cold soul, etc.
She said, “Well you always find the positive aspects to everything.”
I agreed. Then I asked the usual question when someone tells me I’m a positive person…
“What’s the alternative?”
Erin answered, “Well, most people don’t live that way. They just walk around negative.”
I suppose that’s true, though Law of Attraction, (or God, if you’d prefer) draws positive, abundant people into my daily experience. We draw to ourselves that which we think and feel.
But that’s the whole enchilada.
If you’re here, in flesh and bone form, I suppose you have a choice as to how you’ll see the world. We’ve all been given free will.
And we have that choice too. I can be oriented toward joy, or fear and anger.
You also have that same choice.
Thing is, I have chosen not to see it as a choice.
Living with a negative energy….excuse my language, but that seems like a dumb ass way to live the one life we’ve been given. What a waste!
(See, I do swear out loud sometimes!)
Yes, I know most people live that way. It’s our programming. I wasn’t raised to be perpetually happy, though my parents were damn good role models for finding the silver lining in most situations.
I spent too many years of my life coming from a place of anger and disappointment. Those temper tantrums that are quiet now…they weren’t always so quiet.
After a while, using the process I now teach in HOW TO RECEIVE, I just decided that walking around being pissed off was no longer an option.
Yeah, I figured out the stuff I wanted was on the other side of the negativity I was projecting.
So I got peaceful. I got happy.
I got excited, and exciting.
And gosh darn it, good things started happening!
Money. Lots of it.
Broken relationships were healed.
My body got rock hard.
I woke up in a good mood 99% of the time…
Half because I decided to, and half because things were going on in my life that were great.
It’s still that way.
So here’s the point – and it’s a pretty simple one…
Check yourself, my friend.
If you’re walking around most of the time with a generally negative energy, you’re missing out.
Tell yourself there’s no alternative to being happy and positive.
Because there really isn’t.
Yeah, there’s probably crap in your life that contributes to putting you in a negative place.
But it doesn’t cause it.
You still get to decide your emotions.
Yes…in every situation.
And when you control your reaction…when you find the good in everything, good stuff eventually shows up.
If you want help making that happen, let me know.
