You can try and bury the truth…
But like love (which is the ultimate form of truth) it will work its way through the hardness, the foundations we lay and all the distortions and distractions. It will go under, through, around. And like the tree roots under the concrete, it’ll find its way into the light.
So enjoy it! And enjoy this week’s Truth Bombs!
A Latte Salute Truth Bomb from Michelle Wiederman:
You know….I have been upset for two days about the stupid post showing Obama half heartedly saluting our service members with a coffee cup in his hand. I have been fighting people thinking in my head the whole time that they are complete idiots, when really….I AM THE IDIOT!
I am fighting a battle that isn’t worth fighting, and really….why fight it? People are so headstrong….heels dug in with their political views that they don’t even lift their heads to see that this wasn’t even about politics…it was about human dignity and respect. My bad really. I shouldn’t have gone to battle with people who don’t even know what they’re fighting.
Lesson learned: Spend your time where it matters. LIVE the way you believe is right, and display that way for others. If you want people to understand respect, BE respectful. This is my public apology for engaging in that stupidity. I should have just taken action by behaving in the way I was preaching.
God bless all of you….no matter what side you stand on! There is only one side in the end.
A Hustle Truth Bomb from Kellan Fluckiger:
I am sick and tired of all the discussion about “haves” and “have nots”
Mostly the real distinction is “hustle” and “hustle nots.”
A Parenting Post from Megha Rodriguez:
Do not use your children as an excuse about why you can’t have more, do what you want or live in the way you wish to. It insults their very existence and it undermines the core essence of your relationship with them because subconsciously you project that petty thinking onto them.
I am sharing this because I heard someone give that crappy cop out last night and all I have to say is that it is littered with victim thinking, limitation and worst of all a direct slap to the blessing of their souls in your life.
To all those who chose not to have children because they know it doesn’t fit their life plan BRAVO for your clarity. To the rest – if you tangoed…meaning your children came planned or unplanned…remember you create your life and those little souls are helpers not encumbrances.
A Marketing Truth Bomb from Geoff Stephen:
It’s way easier to sell water to thirsty people than it is to try to convince everyone else that they’re thirsty enough to buy your water.
A Ghosts And Demons Truth Bomb from me:
All of your demons, your ghosts, your unprocessed fears and regrets, your anger, all of it…
They’re just a bunch of smelly old guys sitting around in their underwear, waiting to be shown the door.
Dammit…you’ve got some living to do! Give those demons a wedgie and push them out of your consciousness!
A Simple Things Truth Bomb from Brian McDaniel:
I never feel more alive than when I do while watching the sun come up over the lake on a cool fall morning as the fire warms my bald head.
And Finally, an Envy Truth Bomb from Tannis-Lee Henriksen:
There are only losers in the game of envy. When we envy someone else, we have judged ourselves and found something lacking.
Lack of self-love is the soil in which envy grows. Envious people are never satisfied. Self-pity is never sitting far from envy. We feel sorry for ourselves for what we don’t have. Self-pity is like a swamp, the longer we stand in the muck, the more we stink.
Concentrating on what we do have is the perfect antidote for envy. Every one of us has our own special gifts and talents. We find these by looking at ourselves instead of looking at others. By becoming grateful for what we have, we can rejoice in ourselves.
Today let me be grateful for what I have.
