A couple of days ago I demonstrated Speed and Confidence using my favorite party trick.
No, I don’t juggle at parties. Not usually, anyway.
Totally true. Speed is one way of demonstrating confidence. When you know your stuff so well you can do it as second nature.
But…there’s also slow, and mindful.
And with serenity.
A couple of years ago when I began practicing Tai Chi, it felt right to mash it up with juggling. Two great forms of meditation in motion.
The movements of Tai Chi, unless it’s used as a martial art are usually done slowly.
And juggling in one its pure forms can be done the same way.
It’s confidence.
When you can relax into the movements of what you do, savor every aspect of it.
No need to impress or convince anyone. Just be present in the moment.
Slowly. And confidently.
And yes, you can carry that over to any part of your life.
If you’re a great singer, or writer, or article marketer.
If you’re a great chef, or a great parent, or employee.
You can do all of these quickly when the situation calls for it.
Or you can stretch out the experience. Relax into it.
Do it confidently.
And in the process, build your confidence to find greatness, ease and flow in other parts of your world.
Slow and confident.
Try it!
