That’s the question I posted last night to Facebook, and as an Instagram meme.
Some good answers…not coincidentally from the folks who are playing along in Mind Flip.
Which is good…because not knowing the difference between the two has been the cause of many people’s failure.
So let’s keep this simple.
Positive thinking sounds great. And it can be.
Problem is, most people who say they’re into positive thinking have it ass backward.
Positive thinking by itself means you tend to look at the world with optimism, and hope and happiness.
But…most people who say they’re into “Positive Thinking” are spewing platitudes.
They’re reciting the same old slogans that have been around since The Secret and Law Of Attraction took hold about ten years ago.
Nothing wrong with The Secret or Law of Attraction. They’re both correct concepts.
It’s just that they got hijacked by people who decided it was easier to jump up and down and “manifest” than face down the things that hold them back.
Then they sit in a corner and “stay positive” while their world crumbles around them.
For many, if not most, “Positive Thinking” is giving yourself permission to stay broke and unhealthy.
Yeah, that’s a strong statement. And I’m not taking it back.
People who engage in Possibility Thinking tell themselves the truth.
They don’t oversell the bad parts to themselves.
But they don’t run away from them either.
They see the good parts and the bad parts of their life situation.
And because of that vision, they learn to see things they didn’t see before.
That’s the person who gets the skills to take that vision and turn it into reality.
Not wishful thinking.
How much have you allowed “Positive Thinking” (the bad kind) to keep you stuck where you are?
How have you let yourself see bigger and better things than what you’ve been living?
Comment below. Like share and Tweet above. Someone needs to see bigger than their “positive thinking” has been allowing.
